JIANG Shu-zhuo was born at Guanyang, Guangxi Province in 1955. He studied under Prof. Wang Yuan-hua, one of the most famous literary theorist in China, and then received his doctorate of literature. Now he is the Second-Class professor and doctoral supervisor in Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Jinan University. Also, he is the academic leader in National key Discipline of Literary Theory and the director of Overseas Chinese Literature and Chinese Media Research Center which is the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Guangdong Province. Otherwise, he is the director of China Literature and Art Review Base in Jinan University and of the Center of Cultural Industry Research and Development at College of Liberal Arts. He has been the Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Jinan, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, the vice president and Party committee secretary of the University. And he has been rewarded as National Famous Teacher and Excellent Social Scientist in Guangdong Province. In addition, he undertakes Part-time Academic Jobs as the Deputy Director of the Chinese language Teaching steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Member of the jury of the National Social Science Foundation, the Vice President of the Society of Chinese Literary and artistic Theory, the Vice President of the Society of Ancient Chinese Literary Theory, the Vice President of Society of Chinese and Foreign Literary Theory, the President of Chinese Literature Society of Guangdong Province, the Vice-President of Guangdong Culture Society, the President of Guangdong Writers Association, the Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Association of Literary critics, the external reviewer of theJournal of Chinese Social Scienceand editorial board member ofLiterary CriticismandChinese Comparative Literature.

Prof. JIANG has published more than 20 books, such asBuddhist Sutra Translation and the Trend of Thought in Middle Ages Literature, Buddhism and Chinese Literary Aesthetics, On Religious Art, Religious Literature and Art and Aesthetic Creation, In the Context of Culture, Cultural Poetics: Theory and Practice, Integration of Literary and Art Theories in Song Dynasty,The History of Academic Research on Ancient Chinese Literary Theory in the 20th Century, Poems and notesand papers been published over 200 pieces. He is also an expert with the State Council Special Allowance, with the honor of Second Prize of China's First Youth Outstanding Social Science Achievement Award, Second Prize for Excellent Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences of the fourth session held by Ministry of Education, Chinese Federation of Literature and Art Commentary Prize, and The Eighth Lu Xun Literature and Art Award in Guangdong Province.
